Thank you so much for signing up early. I am blown away by how quickly the 50 specials were taken. I was not expecting that at all. This gives me a lot of fuel to press on and march forward. Thank you again!

Although the spots for the special are account for, I created Groundworks with multiple discounts you can stack. I did this so I can share Jiu Jitsu with more people.
One of Jiu Jitsu’s most valuable abilities is that it cultivates willpower. There’s a lot of Jiu Jitsu out there. I hope you explore and allow your kids to experience it’s capabilities whether it’s at Groundworks or some other place.
If you’re still on the fence about putting your kid in any Jiu Jitsu training here are my 2 cents. Where you decide to train will be home for a long time, so invest wisely.
Don’t let price be the primary factor. Prices can be all over the place. Places are both undervalued and overvalued, you have to weigh the experience, not the price. A good test is to ask about taking multiple trial classes. Most only allow 1 or 2, press for more if you need it or pay the drop in fee for a day.
Don’t let distance be the primary factor either. I know as busy parents it works to keep things local. If you’re looking for the best experience for your kid sometimes you may need to go a little ways out. We are lucky to have a lot of Jiu Jitsu in Los Angeles. Within 30 minutes you have a buffet of choices.

I encourage you to find a place to invest in your kids. Relatively speaking, any Jiu Jitsu is better than no Jiu Jitsu. It has the power to build resilient people and is a ton of fun, but be weary.
Jiu Jitsu is both self-control and controlling a resisting body.
I will tell you if your kid is super excited about starting after taking a trial class, I say sleep on it. I don’t want to sell you on something when everyone’s emotions are high. And I also don’t want a student who will be excited to train everyday only to quit after a few weeks. This is something you need to take the long road on for it to have a lasting effect.
And I’d say the same thing if your kid cries or feels overwhelmed during a class. Sleep on it. Naturally, no one likes feeling helpless at times and kids will say no to everything at first. Jiu Jitsu is 1vs1 so it’s the student learning how to deal with situations that don’t go their way. Jiu Jitsu is a tool that reveals to students what they need to address, technically, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Not allowing them to learn from difficult experiences is a lost opportunity to grow and develop self-belief.
Best of luck to you and your family,
-Rich
